Corinne (Mrs. Earl) Tetzlaff, age 98, of 857 N. 9th Street, Manitowoc, died Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Holy Family Memorial Hospital.

Corinne was born on June 7, 1912 Elkhorn, WI, daughter of the late Thomas Abraham and Edna Loraine (Vaughn) Clark. She moved to Manitowoc with her parents in 1915 where her father was associated with the Clark Oil Company.

Corinne attended local schools (McKinley, old Madison, and Lincoln High) and graduated with the Lincoln High School Class of 1930. She attended Milwaukee State Teachers College and National Lewis University and received a B.E. degree in 1934. She received a M.A. degree from Northwestern University in 1943. Corinne taught in Fond du Lac, WI for several years (ten years at Lincoln and Jefferson Schools) and for 23 years in the Manitowoc Public School System (at Cleveland, Jefferson, Wilson, McKinley, Garfield, Madison, and Jackson Schools).

Corinne married Earl Tetzlaff on July 28, 1948 and they lived in the Clark Family home. He preceded her in death on July 10, 2000.

Mrs. Tetzlaff was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women’s Society and taught Sunday school at St. Paul’s for many years and was a member of the Manitowoc Garden Study Club. She also enjoyed playing bridge, scrabble, canning fruits and vegetables and sewing Christmas tree ornaments.

Corinne is survived by her first cousin Clark Shoblaska and a number of other maternal and paternal cousins. Other relatives, friends, and former students also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday 6, 2011, at the Lakeshore United Methodist Church, 411 Reed Avenue in Manitowoc. Rev. Thomas Dunham will officiate. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lakeshore United Methodist Church.
