Ernest L. "Ernie" Denis Sr., age 73, of 1425 North 9th Street, Manitowoc, died Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at the Aurora Medical Center of Manitowoc County.
Ernie was born on April 15, 1939, at Mishicot, son of the late Joseph and Ida (Robinson) Denis. He graduated from high school in DePere. On June 30, 1979, he married Marian Keuer at Brillion. Ernie worked in the past for the Grey Iron Foundry and several waste disposal companies in the area. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, car racing, and was an avid Green Bay Packer Fan.
Survivors include his wife: Marian Denis, Manitowoc; his children include: Debra Schultz, CO; David Denis, Manitowoc; Ernest (Jenny) Denis Jr., Manitowoc; Trina Denis, Manitowoc and her fiancé, Bruce Owen; twelve grandchildren; one brother and three sisters-in-law: Harold (Mary Ann) Burt, Mishicot; Lucille Denis, Oconto; Betty Denis, Manitowoc; two sisters and two brothers-in-law: Josephine (Duane) Wood, Marinette; Dorothy Besstte, Wausau; Harold Keuer, Baltimore, MD. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Ida Denis; four brothers: Alvin Denis; Orville Denis; Donald Denis; George Dennis; three sisters: Bertha Kiel; Genieve Kafka; June Nitschke and two infant sisters.
Cremation will take place and a memorial service is being planned for a later date. Burial of his cremated remains will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton.
