Kim E. Kurtzweil

Kim E. Kurtzweil, age 55, of 1419 Kellner Street, Manitowoc, died Monday afternoon, January 30, 2012, at the Aurora Medical Center of Manitowoc County following a brief and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Kim was born on May 6, 1956, in Milwaukee, daughter of the late William and Phyllis (Gustafson) Chapman. She was a 1974 graduate of Milwaukee Marshall High School. On September 1, 1979, Kim was married to James L. Kurtzweil in Milwaukee. The couple moved to Manitowoc in 1986 and Jim preceded her in death on November 27, 1992. Kim worked for St. Paul United Methodist Church now known as Lakeshore United Methodist Church. She was the church secretary from 1995 until the present. She was a member of Lakeshore United Methodist Church. Kim enjoyed reading, her sons and especially her granddaughter, Grace.

Survivors include three sons and one daughter-in-law: Brad (Jenny) Kurtzweil, Manitowoc; Michael Kurtzweil, Manitowoc; Daniel Kurtzweil, Manitowoc; one granddaughter: Grace Kurtzweil, Manitowoc; three brothers include: her twin brother: Keith Chapman, West Bend; Neil Chapman, Sullivan; Dale Chapman, Manitowoc; three brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law: Don Kurtzweil, Edgar; Judy Thurs, Athens; Mary Jane (Kenneth) Kraft, Athens; Sandy (Bob) Sekorski, Edgar. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: William and Phyllis Chapman; her husband: James Kurtzweil; one brother-in-law: Delwin Thurs.

A memorial funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 3, 2012, at the Lakeshore United Methodist Church, 411 Reed Avenue, Manitowoc. Rev. Thomas Dunham will officiate with burial of her cremated remains to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is serving the Kurtzwell family.
