Richard C. Hansen
Richard C. Hansen, age 74, of 1705 Cedar Grove Dr. Manitowoc, died Saturday, January 1, 2011 at the Manitowoc Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Richard was born September 16, 1936 in Two Rivers, son of the late Hans and Winifred (Day) Hansen. He attended schools in Manitowoc, and graduated with the class of 1955 from Lincoln High School. Richard was a Tin Can Sailor in the United States Navy from 1956 until his discharge in 1962. He was employed for over 35 years at Eck Foundry in Manitowoc until his retirement in 2000. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, Manitowoc.
Survivors include his three children: Mark Hansen, Manitowoc, Peter (Wendy) Hansen, Humboldt, TN, Kathy Hansen and special friend, Peter Hutterer, Manitowoc; five grandchildren: Jesse Hansen, Two Rivers, Cody Hansen, Manitowoc, Kirstie Hansen, Humboldt, TN, Hollie Hansen, Humboldt, TN, Tasha Shimek, Manitowoc; three brothers and two sisters-in-law: Ronald (Myrna) Hansen, Manitowoc, Gerald Hansen, Cleveland, Leonard (Barbara) Hansen, Las Vegas, NV, Laverne Hansen, Manitowoc, Beverly Bertucci, Arlington Heights, IL: nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; half brother: Frederick Hansen; brother-in-law: Bruno Bertucci; sister-in-law: Diane Hansen.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 6, 2011 at St. James Episcopal Church 434 North 8th. St. Manitowoc. Rev. Diane Murray will officiate. Entombment will follow at Knollwood Mausoleum Hwy 310, Manitowoc. Military services will be accorded by the Amvets Post #99. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, Manitowoc assisted the Hansen family with funeral arrangements.
The Hansen family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Holy Family Memorial Medical Center and Manitowoc Health & Rehabilitation Center for all the wonderful care shown to Richard.
